In November it is time for the 38th World Othello Championship. It is the fifth time W.O.C. is held in Asia. And first time it is held outside Japan.
This time it will be in Bangkok, Thailand.
Asian Othello have grown a lot last ten years! many new countries have joined the World Othello Federation. We welcome countries as Mongolia, Pakistan and Vietnam!
The World Othello Council hope that we will meet many Asian countries in the W.O.C 2014, Bangkok!
Asia have today many of the best players in the world. The MegaHouse Othello World Cup 2014 winner was the Chinese player Yan Song. He is one of the favorite players for the semifinals. But it is many others too! The Thailand team have also many good players, and can it be good for Pianyat Aunchelee to play "home"?
Japan have always a very strong team when they attend. Players as Yusuke Takanashi and Kazuki Okamoto, the World Champions 2012 and 2013. IF they qualify for Japan 2014! Japan have many good players and it is not always sure who will qualify!
Makoto Suekuni, former World Champion 1997 won the Meijin-sen 2014 and are qualified for W.O.C. 2014. Three more players will qualify to the Japan Othello Team in coming tourneys.
It is also many strong players from Singapore, Hong Kong and all Asian countries. Today, when this article is written, we dont know yet who is qualified for all countries, but we will write about the players so fast they are regsitered to the W.O.C. 2014.
Players from all over the world will meet and play about the World Othello Champion title!
